T Lobsang Rampa - Was he a "Walk-In"?

Lobsang Rampa - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

During my teenage years one of my favourite authors was T Lobsang Rampa. I became hooked as soon as I finished his first book, The Third Eye. Over the following months I read the entire collection that was available in Spain at the time, if I remember correctly, 13 books in total. He was to be of enormous influence in my later life as an adult. Many of my spiritual beliefs were based for a long time in what I had read all those years back. Some of them still are. It was with sadness that I discovered in recent years how he was derided and hounded by the british press and accused of making false allegations and basically being a phony. My question is, was Lobsang Rampa a "Walk-in"? Could he had really just given up his body, otherwise born Cyril Henry Hoskin in England, to the spirit of this lama born and bred in Tibet, who was ultimately responsible for the writing of all those books? Did he have a mission? I do believe that there are thousands of people out there whose spiritual path started after reading The Third Eye. The link above explains the very basic facts but I want to find out more.
